FDW - NewsIntrastate Moot Court CompetitionEach year, the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia sponsors a statewide moot court competition where the best appellate advocates from the Moot Court Honor Programs of the University of Georgia, Mercer, John Marshall, Georgia State, and Emory University compete head to head for coveted State titles of "Best Brief", "Best Team", and "Best Oralist." FDW associate Emilia C. Walker, who in 2006 won "Best Team" and "Best Oralist" overall at the State of Florida's Annual Moot Court Competition, has served as a Sub-Committee Chair of Georgia's annual competition for the past two years. FDW has faithfully served as a proud sponsor of the Georgia competition since 2008.
Steven M. Fincher named to Super LawyersMinneapolis-based Law & Politics, publishers of Super Lawyers magazines, announced that FDW Partner Steven M. Fincher has been named to the 2010 edition of Georgia Super Lawyers. Each year, no more than 5 percent of the lawyers in the state receive this honor.
