FDW Attorney Helps Client Win $17.7 million Judgment
The best product liability lawyers were engaged and a lawsuit was filed against the at fault driver and Ford Motor Company.
Almost four years to the day after the accident, FDW attorney L’Erin Barnes assisted product liability attorneys James Butler and George Fryhofer in the case, as she provided legal research, drafted trial briefs, examined key witnesses, and contributed to the closing argument. Together the legal team proved that Ford had known the dangers of lap only seat belts for more than thirty years, but had delayed plans to install three point belts to save money.
A Clayton County jury awarded $17.7 million in damages and was considering punitive damages when Ford Motor Company decided to settle with the grandmother.
FDW deeply regrets the terrible injuries this grandmother sustained. We applaud her for her faith and for her continued courage. We are glad that now, at least her financial burden has been lifted. We are glad we could help.
