Teri D. Fields is an associate with Fincher Denmark & Williams. Fields has been thrilled to join Fincher Denmark & Williams where her practice areas include: Local Government Law; Public Finance; Development/Redevelopment; Zoning; Eminent Domain/Condemnation; Personnel/Employment; and Public Affairs/Lobbying.
She was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia State University, Fields obtained her Master's of Business Administration from Samford University and Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law where she was a member of the esteemed American Journal of Trial Advocacy and graduated in the top third of her class.
Fields clerked for the Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Fields went on to practice law in the Bankruptcy section of the largest law firm in Alabama. She then moved back to Atlanta to practice bankruptcy and construction law with a boutique law firm. From there, Fields went into public practice and served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Georgia Department of Law serving general counsel for state authorities as well as representing the state as a litigator. Feeling the call to entrepreneurship, Fields opened her own firm which specialized in estate planning and probate litigation.
Fields is licensed to practice in: Georgia; Alabama; Alabama District Courts, Northern and Middle; Georgia District Courts, Northern and Southern; and the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Fields is a trained mediator and arbitrator registered with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.
Fields is also an Adjunct Professor in the Legal Studies Program at Clayton State University, a member of the American Bar Association and a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity.
Fields enjoys cooking, crocheting, and reading classic literature in her free time.
