Emilia C. Walker is an Associate at Fincher Denmark & Williams, LLC. Her primary areas of practice are local government law and litigation. Walker is well versed in Title VII (protected status employment decisions), Fourth Amendment (privacy issues), Fourteenth Amendment (equal protection), and police search and seizure law.
Walker received her B.A. in political science from the University of Georgia and her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law, where she was honored with the Book Award, as well as the Appellate Advocate Award. She was also awarded the Best Advocate prize by an en-banc panel of the Florida Supreme Court for her performance at Florida’s state-wide Moot Court Championship. She also served as a teaching assistant. Her professional experience includes serving as a student law clerk at the Fulton County State Court.
Walker’s family has a proud tradition in the state of Georgia—she is the second cousin of author Alice Walker, writer of The Color Purple, who chronicled Walker’s family’s deep ties to the state. She is active within her community and attends Flipper Temple AME Church. She currently serves as a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia.
